HAWEA STORE & KITCHEN

Perched at the heart of Hawea township is the Hawea Store & Kitchen, previously known as Sailz, an eating and drinking institution that's been loved for generations. Undercurrent was commissioned to rejuvenate its upper level into something timeless and in keeping with the new owners' sustainable approach to food and living.

Today, the space is an unexpected delight; a fresh eating environment with a sense of 'been-there-forever' about it. Our design pays homage to the strong sense of community about the establishment with locally-sourced, recycled furniture and materials, while the overall aesthetic reflects the seasonal, sustainable nature of the food and drink.
