ARCHITECTURAL INTERIOR SERVICES:

Conceptual design

To execute any successful fit-out, it’s essential to take a holistic approach. After receiving a brief, we undertake a deep brand investigation, which directs the design narrative we lean on for all project decisions. The concept design is the foundation that will become your project’s tangible DNA.

Preliminary, developed and detailed design

The concept then naturally evolves into preliminary design, with drawings that demonstrate the overall form and function of the space. Developed design breaks down the elements of the building and specifications, while detailed design drawings are used for consents, exemptions, tenders and approvals. Throughout the entire process, Undercurrent co-ordinates all consultants, suppliers, architects, surveyors, engineers, contractors and specification documentation on your behalf. We work through value engineering as required throughout the duration of the project.

Operational design

We believe functional design is essential. It’s important that workflow efficiency and operational elements are considered in both front- and back-of-house. Thorough planning sessions with the space’s owner/operator take place to ensure we produce designs that are not only beautiful, but ergonomic.

Architectural fit-out drawings

We execute full architectural drawings in-house to ensure every last detail is accounted for. A typical drawing set may include: a site plan; a location plan; a specification schedule; a proposed plan; a furniture plan; a set-out plan; a floor finishes plan; a wall finishes plan; a reflected ceiling plan; proposed ceiling finishes; integrated service drawings; interior elevations; shopfront design; bathroom plans and elevations; and joinery plans and elevations with details. Our drawings are produced in conjunction with project architects, engineers and other consultants.

3D modelling and artistic visualisations

We provide clients with an interactive 3D model of the space, to ensure the project team is across every aesthetic design detail. Communication is key, so it’s important to us that our clients are able to clearly visualise the design before proceeding with the physical build. Rendered visualisations are an essential tool to communicate ideas.

Building consent and exemption submission

We compile all internal and external documentation, so that it’s prepared for consent or exemption submissions with your local council. We co-ordinate and respond to RFI’s as required.

Construction management

Whilst construction takes place we attend onsite meetings, visit joinery production workshops and oversee the bespoke trades. We monitor construction to ensure the build is implemented to a high standard and as per specification.

Procurement management

Our network of incredible suppliers are constantly evolving with new products. We specify, source and procure all FF&E and OSE items. This includes fittings, fixtures, appliances, equipment and furniture to ensure it’s all delivered to the design intent, budget and program.

DESIGN SERVICES:

Installation design

We are nimble, often merging boundaries between disciplines. Our installations extend to event, exhibition, interactive, experiential and collaborative designs. We design and procure installations from conception to completion.

Styling and set design

Interior styling is generally the final touch for any spatial project, new or existing. Staging – the process of adding soft furnishings and personal elements to your project – ultimately gives cohesion and a sense of completion to a space. Our set design service focuses on staging design narratives through a custom-built set, typically for photography, editorial, still-life, advertising and fashion. We take pride in aesthetic detail, composition and execution.

Creative Lead and Art Direction
